Zambia

In Zambia we have linked up with The Butterfly Tree www.thebutterflytree.org.uk who work with orphans in the South, near Livingstone. Jane Kaye–Bailey who set up the charity lives near our office in Leamington Spa and has organised her colleagues in Zambia to start work on translating our scripts into the four main languages, Tonga, Lozi, Bemba and N’yanja. In 2008 we plan to explore providing portable players to the schools in the Livingstone area.

Zambia is also one of the four countries to be part of the Four Nations Conference being organised ion 2008 by our Trustee Josephine Munthli. The conference will bring together people from Zambia, Uganda, The Democratic Republic of Congo and Malawi to discuss HIV and AIDS. The participants will be entirely those infected with or affected by HIV. Cherie Blair is the lead Patron and will attend the Malawi based conference in the middle of the year.
