Homeland, Battambang

The north-western town of Battambang is home to our third Cambodian partner - a street children project called Homeland. This is a residential centre, where the children are housed in dormitories and cared for by on-site house mothers (like large families). As well as obviously working with the children at the centre, like M'Lop Tapang (the other street children project we are working with in Cambodia) Homeland also operates in the wider community.

The aim is always to try to reintegrate the children into their families wherever possible. We have provided Homeland with funds for a locally-built room to house the DVD equipment - plus a couple of portable players for outreach work.

The DVD room occupies half of this building at the Homeland centre, Homeland outreach worker showing one of our lessons to village children
