Amoibe School, KwaZulu Natal

Opened in May 2005 by 10-year old Alex, winner of the EuroTalk Junior Language Challenge, (along with King Goodwill Zweletini, the Zulu king!) our second interactive classroom in Africa is linked to Amoibe school near Rorkes Drift. Entrance fees from the language competition totally sponsored this classroom. As with other TME projects, it is planned that people from the surrounding areas will have access to the DVD lessons, as well, of course, as pupils at the school. Teachers from the school have translated several of our lessons into Zulu, and we hope to continue working with them in this way to make more lessons available to the local people.
